About
Brandy ‘s passion has always been Appaloosa Horses. She started breeding them in 1989, in Ridgefield, Washington where MOON DANCE RANCH started, after moving from Alaska.
Since then she has succeeded in NON PRO events starting back in 1991 where she started showing her horses in HALTER and as they grew older they went into performance classes. She trained her own horses , and was a FAR WEST Champion many times.
After moving to Santa Fe New Mexico to watch her Stallion, Mr. Moon Rock, be trained in Reining by Terry Berg, she knew that was what she wanted to do from then on, so she moved there and trained with and under his tutuledge.
She then went on to many NRHA Championships in New Mexico in NON PRO Classes and later in National and World Championship shows where she was TOP TEN EVERY YEAR SHE WENT. Then in 2006, SHE WAS THE Masters Non Pro Champion on her Stallion FRECKLED PINE MD.
She moved to Bend Oregon in 2005 where she has focused her talents on another one of her horse related riding passions, TRAIL CHALLENGE’s . Since then she turned in her Non Pro Card and is currently training @ SR RANCH in Redmond Oregon a first class facility where Reining and Horsemanship skills are the focus of the program , along with safety and communicating with your horse on a different level.
Brandy has taken her knowledge of a lifetime of horses and riding under and with Ray Hunt, Tim McQuay, Craig Johnson,Terry Berg, Joe Hays, Les Vogt and she uses alot of Clinton Anderson techniques along with skills of all of these combined HEROES OF HORSEMANSHIP to have created her own style.
Her Off time look for her on any good trail or Trail Ride including her 13 plus years on the Appaloosa Sponsored Trail the ” THE CHIEF JOE” which is for Appaloosa only horses and they ride the trail the Nez Perce took to avoid Capt Howard and the Calvary in 1877. It is approximetely 1350 miles to complete.
Today you can find her @ the Lazy SR Ranch in Redmond, Oregon, where she is taking in a limited number of good horse’s to train, because she only takes 4 at a time, She feels she can’t give the horse or the customer their hard earned money’s worth with any more than that in her care. Horses are the main focus, and to teach their owners how better to communicate and understand what they are saying, “IF YOU ONLY LISTEN”.
TRAINING WITH INTEGRITY is the motto @ Moon Dance Ranch
You can still find Brandy breeding some of her Champion mares to her GREAT STALLION Freckled Pine MD , for few great foals a year. To get a Champion you have to put the best to the best!
